Modifier Management

You can add modifiers to fulfill the need for customization and combine the modifiers of the same category into one group. Learn how to create modifiers and apply selecting rules.

Create a Modifier

You can select multiple customized modifiers for an item. Each modifier can only be selected once.

1. Go to Product/Inventory Mgmt > Item Modifiers > All modifiers
2. Click [+ Add modifier]
3. Fill in the modifier name and price increment

4. Click [+ Add menu item] and select the applicable items

Manage the Modifiers in Item Settings

You can also add the modifiers on the page of item settings. The changes will be synced.

1. Go to Product/Inventory Mgmt > Category
2. When creating or editing the items, click [+ Add modifiers] to select

Create a Modifier Group

A modifier group is composed of several modifiers and can be set up with rules, such as [Must be selected], [Multiple selection] or single selection. Before adding a modifier group, you should add the modifiers first.

1. Go to Product/Inventory Mgmt > Item Modifiers > Modifier groups
2. Click [+ Add group]
3. Enter the name of modifier group

4. Click [+ Add modifiers] and select the desired modifiers

5. Click [+ Add menu item] and select the applicable items

Unable to apply a modifier group to an item?

The modifiers applied to a single item cannot be the same. When one of the modifiers in a modifier group has been applied to the item, please remove the repeated modifier and re-apply the modifier group to the item.

6. Enable [Must be selected] or [Multiple selection] to meet your working flow. Here are some examples:

Compulsory & Single Selection (e.g. icy, warm or hot for a drink)

Optional & Multiple Selection (e.g. ice cream topping with extra price, maximum 2 scoop)

Compulsory & Multiple Selection (e.g. an item of double scoop, must select 2 flavors)

Arrange the Order of Modifiers

The order of the modifiers at the backend is consistent with that displayed on the ordering page of iCHEF POS and the receipt.

1. Go to Product/Inventory Mgmt > Item Modifiers
2. Click [Reorder] for the [All modifiers] or [Modifier groups] tab

3. Drag the modifiers or modifier groups one at a time to adjust the order and click [Save] to complete

How to rearrange the modifiers displayed on iCHEF POS

In the item settings, you can arrange the order of modifiers for a single item:

1. Go to Product/Inventory Mgmt > Category
2. When editing an item, select [Custom sort] for the sorting option
3. Drag a modifier up and down to arrange its order

Manage Modifiers

1. Go to Product/Inventory Mgmt > Item Modifiers
2. Click on the [All modifiers] or [Modifier groups] tab
3. Click the pen icon to adjust the settings
