Before Starting
Check if you have set up all your printer stations on the iCHEF backend.
Connect Methods
There are 3 ways to connect the printer to the iCHEF POS app. Please check the compatibility of each connect method, and follow the steps to complete your settings.
- Local Area Networks (LAN): mC-Print3, TSP 100/143, TSP 650/654, DT2x
- USB Cable: mC-Print3, TSP 100/143
- Bluetooth: mPOP
Local Area Networks (LAN)
You can connect multiple printers to the same iPad via LAN.

Step 1: Connect to the network and find the IP address
- Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the printer, and the other end to your wireless router.
- With the printer powered OFF, press and hold down the [FEED] button.
- Power the printer ON, only releasing the [FEED] button when the printer starts to print.
- Two sheets will be printed. Find the IP address of the printer on the 2nd sheet.

Step 2: Connect to the iCHEF POS app
- Go to [Toolbox > Device Settings] in iCHEF POS app.
- Select a printing rule.
- Select the printer of the correct model and IP address to connect.

USB Cable
One iPad can connect to one printer via the Lightning cable.

Step 1: Connect to the iPad
- Prepare a Lightning cable (it must be Apple Inc.’s genuine product).
- Connect the USB end of the cable to the printer, and the Lightening end to your iPad.
Step 2: Connect to the iCHEF POS app
- Go to [Toolbox > Device Settings] in iCHEF POS app.
- Select a printing rule.
- Select the printer of the correct model to connect.

Bluetooth

Step 1: Connect to the iPad
- Turn ON the mPOP printer
- From the iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth
- Toggle on [Bluetooth]
- Find the device [STAR mPOP] to connect

Step 2: Connect to the iCHEF POS app
- Go to [Toolbox > Device Settings] in iCHEF POS app.
- Select a printing rule.
- Select the printer of the correct model to connect.

Refresh Printer Route
If the printer is well connected but it is not printing the receipt, try refresh the pairing route of printers by clicking the [] icon.

FAQ
I can’t find the printer station in the iCHEF POS app
I can’t find the printer station in the iCHEF POS app
If you have set up printer stations on iCHEF backend, but you couldn’t find it in the iCHEF POS app, please log out and [Update menu] to log in again.
The IP address shows 0.0.0.0
The IP address shows 0.0.0.0
It means that the printer is not connected to the network.
Check your network connection again. Make sure that the Ethernet cable is functional, and is well connected to your wireless router.
If you still can’t connect the printer to the network, please consult your network provider or iCHEF support team.

Check if the printer and the iPad are connected to the same local network
- From the iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi
- Connect to the network and tap
- Check if the IP address of iPad and the printer share the same beginning

Check the authorization settings
- From the iPad, go to Settings > iCHEF POS
- Toggle on [Local Network]

The USB cable must be Apple Inc.’s genuine product or an MFi-certified product. If the cable is well connected but you still can’t find the printer, please contact iCHEF support team.
