Purchase the iPad Cable

Due to the need for communication between the iPad and the printer using Apple transmission technology, when purchasing cables from the market, please make sure they meet the following conditions.

  • One end of the cable is the iPad device connection end, and the other end needs to be a USB-A connection end.
  • The cable has passed MFi certification (Apple certified).
  • The cable has passed USB-IF certification.
  • The cable length is no more than 2 meters.
  • The cable supports charging up to 3A.

iCHEF has tested using the original iPad provided cable plus a “cable adapter,” and there is a higher probability of not being able to connect with the printer normally. The quality of cables on the market varies, and it is still recommended to purchase a certified transfer cable from the Apple official website.

Purchase Cable from the Apple Official Website

Using the MFi Certified Cable Still Unable to Connect Properly

Due to the continuous updates of iPad technology, Star will also continue to release firmware updates for the POS machine. Please try updating the POS machine firmware to the latest version through the following methods.

According to Star Company, an unstable connection may result if the mC-Print3 firmware is not updated to version 3.6 or above, or the TSP 100 USB firmware is not updated to version 1.9 or above.
